Job Description:
Catering
Oversee campus-wide catering services and maintain high-quality food provision suitable for the Wellington community.
Develop and implement operational frameworks for potential future transition to self-operated or semi-self-operated school catering models.
Possess strong knowledge of catering procurement, food cost calculation, intake rate analysis and profitability oversight to ensure value for money and sustainable operations.
Supervise the daily work of the canteen effectively, managing day-to-day catering services to ensure quality of food and service for all meals, snacks and events.
Work closely with the catering vendor to respond promptly to catering requests from various departments and ensure an excellent dining experience for staff, pupils and visitors.
Ensure full compliance of the vendor with school policies and government regulations on food safety and hygiene; update school regulations as required.
Apply sound knowledge of food safety, nutrition and menu planning to adjust pupils’ menus and ensure balanced meals.
Continuously enhance vendor performance through monthly KPI reviews, bi-weekly hygiene and procedural checks, and regular spot checks on facilities.
Collaborate with academic and finance teams to ensure accurate meal fee deductions, credit returns for transferring pupils, and correct billing for all users.
Support the Operations Manager in organising food committee meetings and tasting activities, actively seeking feedback from the community and implementing improvements.
Liaise with relevant government bodies, cooperate with inspectors and participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Handle parental complaints related to catering, oversee corrective actions and manage day-to-day communication with parents on catering matters.
Perform data analysis to enhance vendor performance and optimise catering operations.
Assist in drafting tender documents for canteen services and facilitate tender processes and vendor handover as needed.
Ensure all governmental and education bureau requirements are met, including timely submission of documents and execution of directives.
